Printmaker and MCLA professor Melanie Mowinski will give a short artist talk and share her work during this evening of art-making. Following Mowinski’s presentation, she will guide participants through a printmaking process that is accessible to all: rubber stamp carving. Leave with a small edition of prints made with Mowinski’s portable press!

Registration includes materials and 1 drink ticket for beer or wine. The MASS MoCA bar will be available with additional drinks for purchase.

About the Artist:
Melanie Mowinski is an artist and professor in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, teaching at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in North Adams. She holds an MFA from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and an MAR from Yale University. Her unique letterpress and book art (under PRESS • 29 PRESS) are in collections worldwide. In 2011, Mowinski founded PRESS: Letterpress as a Public Art Project in North Adams, which later moved to the MCLA campus and continues as PRESS on the MOVE! She completed The 50 Card Project in 2017, creating weekly letterpress cards inspired by civic engagement. Her book, Collage Your Life, was published in June 2022.
